The Role
As Technical Specification Sales Manager, you will:

  • Educate and influence decision-makers: Engage Tier 1 stakeholders – Architects, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and Project Managers – to highlight the game-changing benefits of this advanced process.
  • Overcome barriers: Build compelling cases to address traditional cost-based objections, demonstrating the substantial savings in time and overall project budgets.
  • Expand into new markets: Focus on high-growth sectors such as Data Centres, Pharma, Marine, and Renewable Energy, leveraging your expertise and industry connections to unlock opportunities.
  • Close with confidence: Deliver compelling presentations, often securing decisions in the first meeting.

What You Bring

  • A business ‘Hunter’ mentality, with a proven record of driving sales for technical or process-driven solutions, ideally within engineering or construction sectors.
  • The ability to communicate with and influence senior decision-makers, presenting complex solutions in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Experience in delivering technical presentations or CPDs, with a structural engineering background being a strong advantage.
  • Industry knowledge or networks within Data Centres, Pharma, Marine, or Energy sectors, or with Tier 1 contractors, will set you apart.

Internal Technical Sales – Birmingham

Internal technical sales / account manager based close to NEC Birmingham, West Midlands.

This technical internal sales position, (West Midlands based) will involve selling a range of specialist technical products and equipment to a wide range of manufacturing sectors throughout the UK. This rewarding internal sales role will require that your sales, new business and account management capabilities are first class, advising customers on the technical features, and benefits of using the products. The role is based in the office at Birmingham Business Park next to the NEC and Birmingham International Train Station. Reporting directly to the UK Manager, you are fully responsible for hitting all your targets for the sales area. The role will also involve occasional visits to clients so individuals must be smartly presented. Full and ongoing product training will be given. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Outbound Sales Experience.
  • Possessing natural sales ability.
  • A pro-active, new business type sales person with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently & build rapport at all levels of authority with clients & colleagues.
  • Desire, passion and hunger.
  • Quick learner / able to learn about new technology.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Knowledge of using basic IT packages such as Microsoft office 365.
  • Proven sales success.
  • Valid Passport as 2nd interview will be at International HQ in Europe.

THE PACKAGE:

Basic Salary: £25,000-28,000 dependent on experience.

Commission: 5-10% on sales above budget.
